BayCoast Bank Supports the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River with Funding for Camp Welch Cabin Restoration

Cabin upgrades will help strengthen the Club’s summer programs, which serve hundreds of local children.

ASSONET, FALL RIVER, SWANSEA, MA — BayCoast Bank is announcing a significant donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River, supporting the restoration of one of the historic cabins at Camp Welch, the Club’s beloved summer camp, located in Assonet, Massachusetts.

Since 1896, Camp Welch has offered an enriching summer experience for local youth. Each year, the camp welcomes hundreds of children, providing a safe place for them to explore their interests, build friendships, and develop lifelong skills.

The cabins at Camp Welch play a vital role in summer programs, serving as hubs for specialty activities and youth-centered services. The restoration project represents an exciting new chapter for the camp, transforming the cabins into dedicated spaces designed to support creative and educational development.

BayCoast Bank’s grant will fully fund the restoration of one cabin, including new shingle siding, shutters, trim, and a new door, along with repairs to the sheathing and window frames. This investment ensures that Camp Welch can continue to provide high-quality programs in a safe and welcoming environment for generations to come.

“At BayCoast Bank, strengthening our community is at the heart of everything we do,” said John McMahon, Senior Vice President, Community Engagement. “The Boys & Girls Club of Fall River provides invaluable opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive. We’re thrilled to help support this restoration project, so local youth can enjoy a creative and inspiring camp experience.”

“We are deeply grateful to BayCoast Bank for their generosity and belief in our mission,” said William Kiley, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River. “Their $25,000 grant will help Camp Welch continue to be a place where local youth discover their potential, build confidence, and create lasting memories. We are truly thankful to BayCoast for their partnership and hope their example will inspire others to help us renovate the remaining three cabins.”

Camp Welch offers a wide range of activities during the summer, including team sports, STEM activities, music, gardening, arts & crafts, swimming, dance, and more.
