BayCoast Bank’s Top Legal Advisor, Casey Brouthers, is Promoted

Brouthers Receives Key Appointment from the American Bankers Association.

SWANSEA, NORTH DIGHTON, MA –  A pair of exciting announcements for BayCoast Bank’s top legal advisor. Casey Brouthers, Esq., has been elevated to Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel for the Bank. In her new role, Brouthers is responsible for overseeing all legal matters, while providing sound, strategic decisions in an ever-evolving regulatory landscape.

The promotion coincides with an additional honor for Brouthers, who has been appointed to the American Bankers Association’s (ABA’s) Emerging Leaders Council for the 2025-2026 association year. The Council is focused on identifying, connecting, developing, and engaging the current and next generation of bankers to lead the industry, guiding ABA in the creation of new opportunities in leadership development, networking, advocacy, financial literacy, and industry promotion. Council members help guide ABA in creating new opportunities to engage emerging leaders in ABA programming and advocacy to continue their development as bankers and leaders.

“As a member-driven organization we are so fortunate to have emerging leaders that help direct and inform the work we do on behalf of the industry,” said Caitlin Taylor, Vice President, ABA State Association Alliance. “We are grateful that Casey is participating in this council, which will provide her expertise in these important efforts that are so critical to banks across the country.”

Brouthers joined BayCoast Bank in 2020 as Vice President, Regulatory Policy and Enterprise Risk Strategist. She has received numerous promotions during her tenure, most recently achieving the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel on August 30, 2025.

«Casey exemplifies outstanding leadership and a commitment to excellence that embraces our core values,” said Nicholas M. Christ, President and CEO of BayCoast Bank. “I am confident that her vision and collaborative approach will drive continued success for our organization. Her recent appointment to the ABA Emerging Leaders Council further highlights her dedication within the banking industry. Please join me in congratulating Casey on her well-deserved achievements.”

This isn’t the first time Brouthers has achieved national recognition from the ABA. In 2023, she became one of only 12 banking professionals nationwide to receive the Emerging Leader Award.
“It’s such an honor to be appointed to the ABA’s Emerging Leaders Council and to work with my peers on increasing collaboration across our banks, creating more opportunities for the next generation of banking leaders,” said Brouthers. “My participation will allow me to engage with up-and-coming leaders in the banking industry and help develop solutions that will better meet the needs of our customers and the broader economy.”

Brouthers received her juris doctor, cum laude, from UMass Law in Dartmouth, Massachusetts and is a cum laude graduate of Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology. She is an active participant in numerous local organizations, including the Fall River Mayor’s Task Force to End Homelessness, the Taunton Area School to Career (TASC) Program with Associates for Human Services, and the Massachusetts Governor’s Advisory Committee for Lead Poisoning Prevention. She is also a volunteer for Credit for Life, which is part of BayCoast Bank’s comprehensive financial literacy program helping students learn how to live within a real-world budget. Additionally, Brouthers is an active member of various committees and boards for industry trade groups.
