Meet James Wallace
Jim’s illustrious banking career, spanning over four decades, started in 1982 at Bank of New England. Over the years, he has amassed a wealth of experience, serving in various capacities in accounting, information management, and bank operations for several esteemed local financial institutions. In 1990, he found his professional home at BayCoast Bank, initially as their Internal Auditor. Jim’s dedication and expertise led him to the role of Comptroller before he ascended to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2006.
Presently, Jim holds the esteemed position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, where he plays a pivotal role in the Bank’s growth and strategic direction. Under his astute leadership, BayCoast Bank has achieved significant expansion and success.
Jim’s educational journey led him to Bentley University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He further enhanced his banking acumen as a graduate of the ACB National School of Banking.
Jim’s commitment to his community mirrors his professional dedication. He serves as a Board and Finance Committee member for key organizations such as the United Way of Greater Fall River, People Incorporated, the Greater Fall River Development Corporation, and the Arc of Greater Plymouth. Beyond boardrooms, Jim extends his support by coaching for the Special Olympics and Downey Baseball’s Bambino Buddy Ball, an initiative tailored to help special needs children experience the joys of baseball in an environment adapted to their abilities.
Jim and his wife, Lynn, call Halifax, Massachusetts, home. Together, they cherish the joys of parenthood, raising two sons, Christopher and Matthew.
