BayCoast Bank Invests in Early Learning with Grant to The Coalition for Health Equity and Early Development.
NEW BEDFORD, SWANSEA, MA – What do you remember about your childhood? Playing games, singing songs, drawing pictures, or spending time at the park? While these moments may have felt like simple fun, research shows they play a critical role in early cognitive growth.
Did you know 80 percent of a child’s brain development occurs by age three?* Early learning experiences during these formative years lay the foundation for cognitive, emotional, and physical growth, shaping a child’s long-term health, well-being, and success.
Recognizing the importance of early education, BayCoast Bank is proud to announce a significant grant to The Coalition for Health Equity and Early Development (HEED Coalition),supporting programs that ensure every child has a strong start in life.
“At BayCoast Bank, we believe education transforms lives and strengthens communities,” said John McMahon, Senior Vice President of Community Engagement for the Bank. “Our BayCoast family is pleased to support the HEED Coalition, whose mission ensures local children receive meaningful learning opportunities during their most critical developmental years.”
HEED’s initiatives include The Basics Southcoast/Rhode Island program, which equips parents and caregivers with engaging strategies and simple, science-based tools to boost early brain development, close readiness gaps, and ensure every child from birth to age three has the opportunity to thrive.
“We are deeply grateful to BayCoast Bank for their generous $20,000 grant,” said HEED Coalition Executive Director Kelly Rebeiro-Oliveira. “Their commitment to our shared vision will make a strong and lasting impact on the lives of our children, setting them on a path toward lifelong success.”
